Hotel notes: Check-in times are generally at 2:00 or 3:00 pm. Should you arrive beforehand, the hotel’s reception staff would be happy to store your baggage for you so you can set out and begin exploring.
Transportation notes: As Paris’ airports are all located outside the city center, to reach your hotel add a private or shared airport transfer for a few dollars more or use public transportation (the RER train and the Paris Métro.) If you prefer the city metro, we offer 1, 2 or 3-day metro passes for purchase in advance, which can also be used for the airport trains. Nice’s airport is convenient located near the city center. To reach your hotel, book one of our airport transfers, take a taxi or use the city bus.
Our suggestions of things to do and see in:
Paris could be described as the European center of food, fashion and art. From the iconic Eiffel Tower to the neighborhood sidewalk cafes, Paris has so much to offer. On your trip, experience a foodie day in Paris - learn how to create baguettes, croissants or other uniquely French dishes in a hands-on baking or cooking class. Enjoy a wine and cheese tasting, a chocolate walking tour, or a day trip to Champagne. If you like shopping, visit the 10-story flagship Galeries Lafayette during the weekly free fashion show, take a designer outlet shopping tour, or try our vintage Paris flea market tour. Take a relaxing “Illuminations of Paris” coach tour or Seine River cruise by night or explore the uniquely Parisian Neighborhoods on a guided walking tour: the Latin Quarter, Montmartre, the Right Bank, and the Île de la Cité - the home of the Cathedral of Notre-Dame. Dedicate some time to exploring the famous Louvre Museum and the stunning Musée d'Orsay, housed in a Beaux-Arts railway station built in the late 1800’s. As Paris is known for its cabarets, attend a show at the Paradis Latin or the Moulin Rouge. It’s also easy to see a bit more of France while based in Paris. You can take a full-day excursion to Giverny to see the beautiful home and gardens of Claude Monet, the landing beaches in Normandy, the Palace of Fontainebleau, the Loire Valley Castles or the Palace, gardens and city of Versailles.
Nestled between Alpine foothills and shimmering Mediterranean seas, the resort town of Nice has long been famed for its show-stopping scenery. Look out on the breathtaking Bay of Angels as you stroll along the Promenade Anglais. Visit Nice’s gem of an Old Town, home to the city’s flower market on Cours Saleya, the Place Rosetti and the medieval rue Droite. Check out the city’s fantastic museums including the Musée National Marc Chagall, the Matisse Museum and the Masséna Museum. If you appreciate a local perspective, take our guided Nice City Tour. From Nice it’s also easy, fun and convenient to take one of our day trips. Popular destinations include the hilltop village of Gourdon, the perfume capital of Grasse, the medieval Èze village, and artistic Saint-Paul-de-Vence. To the west of Nice, visit the glamorous Riviera towns of Sainte-Maxime, Saint-Tropez, Antibes and Cannes – home to one of the world’s most famous film festivals. The eastern edge of Nice also offers incredible day trip opportunities to the Principality of Monaco - home to the famed casino in Monte-Carlo - and to the Italian Rivera towns of San Remo and Ventimiglia.
