Three nights in Rome. Breakfast provided.
Bid farewell to Italy as you board your return flight to the United States.
Hotel notes: Check-in times are generally at 2:00 or 3:00 pm. Should you arrive beforehand, the hotel’s reception staff would be happy to store your baggage for you so you can set out and begin exploring.
Transportation notes: As Paris’ airports are all located outside the city center, to reach your hotel add a private or shared airport transfer for a few dollars more or use public transportation (the RER train and the Paris Métro.) If you prefer the city metro, we offer 1, 2 or 3-day metro passes for purchase in advance, which can also be used for the airport trains. As Rome’s Fiumicino Airport is located quite far from the center, to travel between it and your hotel, consider having us pre-arrange airport transfers for you. Alternatively, public transportation options are taxi, or a combination of train, subway and taxi.
Our suggestions of things to do and see in:
Paris could be described as the European center of food, fashion and art. From the iconic Eiffel Tower to the neighborhood sidewalk cafes, Paris has so much to offer. On your trip, experience a foodie day in Paris - learn how to create baguettes, croissants or other uniquely French dishes in a hands-on baking or cooking class. Enjoy a wine and cheese tasting, a chocolate walking tour, or a day trip to Champagne. If you like shopping, visit the 10-story flagship Galeries Lafayette during the weekly free fashion show, take a designer outlet shopping tour, or try our vintage Paris flea market tour. Take a relaxing “Illuminations of Paris” coach tour or Seine River cruise by night, and explore these uniquely Parisian Neighborhoods on a guided walking tour: the Latin Quarter, Montmartre, the Right Bank, and the Île de la Cité - the home of the Cathedral of Notre-Dame. Dedicate some time to exploring the famous Louvre Museum and the stunning Musée d'Orsay, housed in a Beaux-Arts railway station built in the late 1800’s. As Paris is known for its cabarets, attend a show at the Paradis Latin or the Moulin Rouge. It’s also easy to see a bit more of France while based in Paris. You can take a full-day excursion to Giverny to see the beautiful home and gardens of Claude Monet, the landing beaches in Normandy, the Palace of Fontainebleau, the Loire Valley Castles or the Palace, gardens and city of Versailles.
Head to the heart of Rome to enjoy la dolce vita! Eat gelato. Go shopping. Stroll through Villa Borghese Park. Check out Rome’s beautiful baroque architecture, famous squares, and sights like the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon. Enjoy a relaxing “Rome by Night” bus tour to see the city’s most famous monuments beautifully illuminated. Explore the sights of Ancient Rome and Vatican City – either on your own or with one of our guided sightseeing tours. See the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, and be sure to visit the Vatican Museums’ incredible art collection as well as St. Peter’s Basilica. From Vatican City, you’re a stone’s throw from one of our favorite foodie neighborhoods in Rome: Trastevere. Once you’ve finished sightseeing in Rome, visit Tivoli’s magnificent villas, the island of Capri or the ancient ruins of Pompeii on a guided excursion. If you’re an epicure, stay in town and take a grocery lesson and cooking class!
