The next day visit the historic center of Rudesheim before sailing along the Rhine River's Lorelei Valley, associated with the famous legend of the sirens who enchanted sailors with their song. Later that evening arrive in the city of Cologne famous for its cathedral and the fragrance 4711. Next day visit the town of Hamburg another town associated with a legend, the Pied Piper. Free time to explore this port city before transferring to Berlin, a city with strong ties to WWII and the Cold War, but with a very modern edge nowadays full of avant garde art, performances and clubs. Onwards to Potsdam's Sanssouci Castle with its ties to Frederick the Great. Heidelberg's romantic river and university await the following day - its charm has made it one of the top destinations in Germany. Continue through the delightful Black Forest landscape for a sightseeing tour of Freiburg with its ancient cathedral and historic Town Hall. Enjoy a breeze of the waters of Lake Titi and large Lake Constance. Write your own fairytale as you wander Neuschwanstein Castle, the inspiration for the castle at Disney World. Travel to the city of Oberammergau known for its production of the Passion Play, before heading onward to Garmisch Partenkirchen, site of a winter Olympics. Explore another one of King Ludwig's castles at Linderhof before arriving in the rollicking city of Munich where you will view the famous Marienplatz clock tower and its amusing performance. After time to explore on your own, enjoy the taste of Bavaria at a folk dinner accompanied by traditional music. Finally journey to one of Germany's most beautiful cities, Rothenburg, filled with charming half-timbered houses, before circling back to Frankfurt for one last night before your flight home.
