Santiago and Easter Island
[PriceDisp]*

Overview

Explore two completely different destinations in one trip. Begin your expedition in the modern city of Santiago. Explore the Japanese garden and Metropolitan Zoo before taking an entertaining ride via funicular to Cerro San Cristobál to admire the superb city views. The city's modern subway makes it easy to partake in indoor pursuits too such as enjoying an art exhibition at the opulent Moorish style Palacio de la Alhambra or learning more about the flora and fauna of the country at the Museum of Natural History. Then it's off to the world's most remote inhabited island. Easter Island is the home of the cryptic stone images, moui, carved from the volcanic stone on the island. Ponder the question as to why these were built -were they for religious purposes or sacrificial sites? To use as an astronomical tool? Or were they really built by extraterrestrials? Draw your own conclusions as you explore the island's archeological sites, craters and the landscapes of the Rapa Nui National Park.
