Travel To Turkey Come and see for yourself the mysterious charms and unique feel for a country that has grown up with one foot in Asia and one foot in Europe. From beach resort towns to cities with amazing markets and architecture, Turkey may leave you with more questions than answers, but it will leave you with wanting to come back again and again.

Cuisine is what draws many to travel to Turkey - the cuisine itself is a blend of the cultures from nearby. Sausages, meats, fresh vegetables, and cheeses are just a few of the ingredients that you'll enjoy while here. Probably the best food is found in Istanbul, the capital. It's a city that is unforgettable, with its mix of castles, churches, mosques and domes, all in one city. It is clear that this crossroads has been a witness to quite a lot of history over the centuries - many of the city's structures are ancient, but one that travelers rave about is the Blue Mosque. It has a wonderful dome and towers that stand out on the skyline, but the interiors are just as magical.

Shopping in a bazaar is another classic Turkish experience. When you travel to Turkey, one will not be far away, and many of the ones in Istanbul and elsewhere span several city blocks and contain all kinds of shops, including tea cafes and restaurants! Haggling for your purchase and just making sense of the mayhem inside these beautiful buildings is part of trying to understand the Turkish experience.

Another way to really try out the Turkish lifestyle is by visiting a hamam, or Turkish bath. The baths were for centuries the social hub of Turkish cities, and it was a place where locals came to clean themselves, and relax, similar to the Romans. The baths in Turkey are spectacular - everything, from the "warm room" to the "hot room" to the "cold pool", which make up the three main steps of a bath visit, are gorgeous and intended to leave an impression on visitors.

Travel to Turkey this year and find out what you're missing.
