Travel To Portugal A strip of sunny land at the end of the European continent looking out onto the Atlantic, Portugal is blessed with a beautiful location; beaches and cliffs lead inland to wonderful rolling hills. No matter why you travel to Portugal - whether it's for the beach, for a cultural city break, or just to experience the relaxed Portuguese lifestyle, you'll love it here.

During your trip, you might want to consider a stay in the country's more personalized accommodation, called Pousadas. These establishments are a network of accommodations that include everything from a regal manor home to breathtaking country farmhouse. The venues are each very unique, and come with heaps of hospitality, top quality, and great service - your hotel might be the highlight of the trip!

Portugal was the world's first seafaring explorer nation, and so many features from lands far away have made their way back into the country. But Portugal has its own cultural style, and you can eat and drink your way through it. It all starts in the capital of Lisbon. With stunning views of the nearby countryside, you can spend the morning in castles and the rest of the day on terraces just enjoying the sunshine. Lisbon also has several wine tasting rooms to learn more about Portuguese wine, which is grown in several regions in the country.

Lisbon also has several historic neighborhoods and districts worth a visit. The shopping area is known as Baixa, and even window shoppers should come see the architecture and the wonderful lanes, though the cute boutiques and alluring cafes will manage to stop you in your tracks. Belem is another must see for its many monuments and attractions, including the massive monastery and the Gulbenkian museum. And when night falls, you'll want to be in Lisbon's restaurant and party district, Bairro Alto - the cobblestone lanes and alleyways are lined with bars and the streets fill up at night.

No matter what kind of vacation you're looking for when you travel to Portugal, this beautiful country has it.
