Travel To Hungary A place filled with history and rich culture extending back centuries, travel to Hungary is all but guaranteed to be a magical experience.

You'll no doubt base yourself and spend much of your time in the capital city of Budapest. One walk along the gleaming shores of the Danube River will show you why the two cities of Buda and Pest came together to form one gorgeous town - the spot is beautiful, but with several stunning bridges and impressive buildings on either side of the river, the view here by day or night is the number one attraction.

The Buda side of the river is a hill that on top is home to Buda Castle, a beautiful structure with a great view of the rest of the city. Next to the castle is a wonderful ornate church, the Matthias Church. It is beautiful and free to go inside. Another popular attraction on Buda Hill is a tour of the dark, somewhat spooky labyrinth - a series of tunnels that used to connect many of the important buildings up here on the hill. And if you explore further, you'll also find a couple of the city's famous baths up here.

Back down on the Pest side of the river, you'll find more of the reasons that people travel to Hungary: for the food! Several terraces with river views can be found in Pest, as well as shopping streets and avenues. Pest is also where many of the city's best museums can be found, such as the Hungarian Parliament building or the House of Terror museum.

Outside of Budapest, you'll find there are many daytrip opportunities. One is to a spot just on the edge of the city, Statue Park, where you'll be able to explore many of the city's old communist icons up close and personal. Hiking is also another popular pastime, though less strenuous strolling can be had by visiting some of Hungary's fairytale villages. There are also several lakes popular as resort towns, massive underground cave systems, all ready for exploring.

No matter what you're looking to find when you travel to Hungary, you'll find it.
