PROCEDURES FOR OBTAINING ENTRY VISA INTO CHINA
APPLIES ONLY TO US CITIZENS
ALL TRAVELERS TO CHINA ARE REQUIRED TO HOLD A VALID TOURIST VISA

BASIC DOCUMENTATION AND APPLICATION FORM REQUIRED FOR SINGLE-ENTRY INDIVIDUAL TOURIST VISIT VISA:

  • US passport of more than 6 months validity with at least one blank visa page
  • One complete application form: Click here to print visa application form
  • One standard passport-size (2" X 2") front-face photo (green card photo will not be accepted)
  • Payment made in the form of cash (for walk-in processing) or check (for walk-in and mail in processing)
WALK-IN PROCESSING:
  • Visa can be obtained from one of the following locations in person
  • Charge for single-entry tourist visa is $50 per applicant for regular processing, $70 per applicant for express processing. The visa is valid for 3 months from the time of issuance and permits stay for up to 1 month in China
  • Allows 5 working days for regular processing; 1 working day for express processing

MAIL-IN PROCESSING:
Beginning May 1, 2003, the Chinese consulates no longer accept mail-in visa applications.

The following agency is able to process your visa application, but you are not limited to obtaining the required visa from this particular agency.

   Charges:
  • $80 per applicant for single entry visa (including Consulate processing fee and China Travel Service Inc. service charges).
  • The visa is valid for 3 months from the time of issuance and permits stay for up to 1 month in China.
  • $15 FedEx fee (additional to processing fee) for mailing if you are not picking up the visa in person at the office.
  • $50 additional charge for next business day service (Application form and all other required items must arrive at the office of China Travel Service by 10:00AM and the visa will be ready the afternoon of the following business day. Allow appropriate time for mailing if you are not picking up the visa at the office).
  • Allow 2 weeks for regular processing; 3-5 working days for next business day service.

THE APPLICATION FOR A VISA MAY BE DECLINED IF THE APPLICANT FAILS TO PROVIDE TRUE AND COMPLETE INFORMATION ON THE VISA APPLICATION FORM. THE APPLICANT SHALL BEAR ALL THE CONSEQUENCES ARISING THERFROM.
