PROCEDURES FOR OBTAINING ENTRY TOURIST VISA INTO BRAZIL
APPLIES ONLY TO US CITIZENS
ALL TRAVELERS TO BRAZIL ARE REQUIRED TO HOLD A VALID TOURIST VISA
BASIC DOCUMENTATION AND APPLICATION FORM REQUIRED FOR SINGLE-ENTRY INDIVIDUAL TOURIST VISIT VISA:
  • US passport that is valid for at least six months from the intended date of arrival in Brazil
  • A duly filled out and signed visa application form. Click here to print visa application form .
  • A photocopy of your round trip ticket to Brazil.
  • One passport-sized photograph (2" x 2") in color or black and white, front view, full face, taken against a light background.
  • Processing Fee - currently $100.00

NOTE: Additional information and extra fees may be required. Be sure to check directly with the appropriate Brazilian Consulate where you will be applying for a visa to determine fees, hours of operation, amount of time needed to process the application, and the form of payment accepted. First arrival in Brazil must take place within 90 days from the date the visa was issued.

Please note that some consulate offices no longer accept applications for visas submitted by mail. Some offices will only accept visa submissions brought in by the applicant in person or by a family member/third party properly identified. Applicants who cannot apply in person will need to use the services of an independent visa service agency. Be sure to check directly with the appropriate Brazilian Consulate (list below) for your state to determine their specific requirements.
