This was a great trip! The hotel was conveniently located near the metro and bus routes. The service at the hotel was excellent and the room was large, clean and comfortable. We took day tours to Segovia, Avila and Toledo and they were interesting and informative. The cost of the whole package was extremely affordable.

GoToday was very accommodating in getting the hotel we wanted even though it was not listed. We stayed in Plaza de Sol which is excellant as you are truly in the center of the city and getting around is very easy! Because it is in the center - it is also a magnate for many, many tourist and gets very crowded! Anyone going to Madrid for the first time should be prepared to eat dinner at 9-10PM - that is when the best resturants open! We found an excellant resturant "De Prado" off the Avenue of Americas - Chef Prado is an international award winning chef and is even published. He will personally greet you and loves to share his history! My only discontent with this trip was with the airlines! Luftansa operated by United - is UNITED! They did not have us listed on the flight from Germany to California and then over the course of 2.5 dyas repeatedly lied to us about where our luggage really was! The airplane going in both directions did not have a 100% working order of its video equipment and if you are unfortunate to be seated in the back of the plane (we were both directions) there is no drop down video screen to watch whatever movie they can get to play. Stick with British Air! In the future I will select a package based on airline from now on.

We had an overall great time in Madrid and our hotel, Principe Pio was fine with a great breakfast daily and close to the metro.
We encountered two problems-1st Go-today didn't leave us enough time between flights from Madrid to Paris on our return and we missed the flight but Air France gave us a free lunch, which I asked for. This is my first time flying Air France and I can see why they are rated so highly-free drinks and your own Tv screen. The 2nd problem I encountered was that I had my backpack stolen in a tavern near Plaza de Sol. We are almost 100% sure that it was an inside job involving our waiter, bus boy, and maitre'd. My friends and I tore that tapas bar apart and accused them of doing it. I lost $$, glasses, credit cards, camera, etc. Spent the night at the police station. Stay away from the "Madrid J Catedral" restaurant on San Jeronimo calle. What a bummer!!!!!! Toledo and Sogovia, day trips, were great!

The breakfast at The Gran Reina Victoria was the most awesome we've ever had in over 20 yrs. of travel in Europe. It's our second Go-Today trip.Everything is as advertised & the prices make it possible for our whole family to go.We'll be returning! Rhoda S. from Pittsburgh. An extra aside to go-today.com several of us were split up seating wise on Delta & weren't real happy to have families seperated in ticketing. Not just us you dropped the ball with.

we just got back from madrid on our sixth trip with go-today in the last year.this was one of the best. we took the metro from the airport to within 50 feet of our hotel, the grand versalles, for 45 cents u.s. the pictures of the hotel on the website do not do it justice. we had a large room with a sitting area. plenty of hot water and water pressure(two of my benchmarks) the included breakfast buffet was fabulous and included eggs and bacon. although the hotel is right by the metro, at the intersection of three lines, the energetic can walk almost everywhere. madrid was clean and the food and drink was too. don't miss the taverna bola for lunch. eating and drinking in the area all around the plaza del sol is great. this is a real sleeper of a city for tourists in my opinion and definitely worth a return visit.
