Travel throughout Southeast Asia from bustling cities to Ancient ruins on this special vacation!
Arrive in Bangkok, one of Asia’s most lively cities with exciting nightlife, magnificent parks and temples and abundance of shopping. Home to over seven million people, Bangkok is an exuberant, exhilarating, at times exhausting metropolis that no world traveler should miss. Continue your journey to Luang Prabang and Vientiane, two distinctly different cities in Laos. With a strong traditional Buddhist culture, and a noticeable French influence, Laos is one of the most intriguing countries in the region, one that actually limits tourism as a matter of policy, to ensure that places such as Luang Prabang remain unspoiled. With small, charming, comfortable hotels with teakwood floors, locally woven fabrics and the ambience of another century, Laos is one of the best places to visit for travelers searching for somewhere off the beaten path. Venture onward to Siem Reap, the gateway city to the Angkor Complex. Explore the ancient temples of Ankor Wat; from those that have been preserved to those left in their original state, partially engulfed in the surrounding jungle. Conclude your vacation in Singapore where the cultures of the East meet the West. Downtown Singapore offers outstanding shopping and fabulous restaurants while just outside you’ll have easy access to nature reserves and lush tropical greenery

All in all, a great trip. Flights, hotel transfers, airport transfers, and tours went off almost without a hitch. Guides were uniformly informed with passable English, hotels were all good (location, location, location), and the combined cities were awesome in their variety. Rainy season travel is the best, crowds were small and the rains were brief. Very few Americans, mostly Koreans and Japanese. Some guidance - 1. make sure to have your guide confirm your flight bookings as you move along, we were almost stranded in Luang Prabang because of either an agent or airline oversight; 2. read up on tuk tuk and taxi use in Bangkok and avoid them unless you want to waste time in handicraft and jewelry centers, be adamant about your destination or, better yet, use the skyway and the river and avoid the traffic; 3. the trip over and back can be very long, try for the most direct booking or you will visit the Hong Kong airport more often that seems necessary.
