With this 12-day escorted package, you can visit all of Bosnia, Croatia and Slovenia, its capital cities and numerous stops in between. Begin in Sarajova, the capital of Bosnia and center of cultural activity, to experience the hustle and bustle of this timeless city. Next, you will visit some of the oldest historical sites in Old Dubrovnik and Split, including the Pharmacy of Franciscan Monastery, the Roman Emperor Dicletian's Palace and Jupiter's Temple. Croatia has many cultural and historical remnants, but is also blessed with such natural wonders like the Plitvice Lakes National Park, beautiful bay of Kvarner, large caves, Julian Alps and cliff-perched towns for your viewing pleasure. You will then visit the capitals of Slovenia and Croatia, Ljubljana and Zagreb to admire Baroque and Art Nouveau architecture in our city tours. At Zagreb, you will also have the option to take a countryside excursion. This vacation will offer you countless new experiences and cultures in the space of eleven nights.

  • Day 3 (Friday): Sarajevo

  • Sarajevo, capital of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, has been influenced by a number of cultures and civilizations. On your city tour, visit the picturesque Turkish bazaar “Bas Carsija”, the Husref Bay’s Mosque, Olympic Stadium and Sarajevo War Tunnel Museum. Afternoon is free.

  • Day 4 (Saturday): Sarajevo to Dubrovnik

  • A drive through the marvelous gorge of the Neretva River to Mostar. Here, see the remains of the Turkish quarter and the reconstruction efforts on the 16th century stone bridge. Dinner and overnight in Dubrovnik.

  • Day 5 (Sunday): Dubrovnik

  • There is a walking tour of "Old Dubrovnik" this morning; the Rector's Palace, Bell Tower Clock, Orlando's Column and the Sponza Palace. You will also see the Dominican Monastery and Franciscan Monastery with its Pharmacy, one of the oldest in the world. The rest of the day is at leisure.

  • Day 6 (Monday):Dubrovnik to Split

  • Depart Dubrovnik and travel north along the spectacular Adriatic coast, past old fishing villages and new resorts, to Split. Enjoy a city tour featuring the historic inner city, built around the Roman Emperor Diocletian's Palace, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. See the remnants of Split's Roman heritage, its Renaissance and Gothic structures, Jupiter's Temple, the Peristyle and the Cathedral.

  • Day 7 (Tuesday): Trogir and Plitvice Lakes

  • After breakfast, head to Trogir, the center of artistic activities. Scholars from around the world gather to study and paint here. Then, turn inland and travel to Plitvice Lakes National Park. Upon arrival, have your camera ready and take a walking tour around several of the lower lakes. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery of this natural wonder of 16 terraced lakes surrounded by thickly wooded mountains and lush vegetation.

  • Day 8 (Wednesday): Opatija, Postojna and Bled

  • Return to the coast and travel along the beautiful bay of Kvarner to its popular resort, Opatija. After some free time, journey north to Postojna, home to one of the largest caves in Europe. Tour the fantastic subterranean world by miniature electric train. Afterwards, continue to Bled, beautifully set amidst the Julian Alps.

  • Day 9 (Thursday): Bled

  • A sightseeing tour of Bled features the charming town with the lakeshore, and imposing Bled Castle, perched on a cliff high above the lake. The balance of the day is at leisure for optional activities, such as visiting the small island in the middle of the lake.

  • Day 10 (Friday): Bled to Ljubljana and Zagreb

  • Start your day with a walking tour of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. Visit the most significant sights of the old city centre: the picturesque Central open-air Market and the Three Bridges, both designed by famous architect Joze Plecnik, Baroque Town Hall and Robba's Fountain. Then, continue to Zagreb, the capital city of Croatia.

  • Day 11 (Saturday): Zagreb

  • This morning, enjoy a city tour featuring the historic Upper Town, St. Mark’s Church, St. Catherine’s Church, the Cathedral, the Parliament and the Government Palace. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the winding streets of the old town or take an optional excursion to the countryside.

  • Passport Requirements:
    It is the sole responsibility of each passenger to obtain the necessary documents for travel, not excluding passports and visas. A valid passport is normally the only requirement for U.S. citizens. Visa requirements do change without notice and vary by nationality. Please check with the consulate office of the destination country as to visa requirements.
  • Tour Membership:
    In order to ensure congenial membership, the tour company reserves the right to accept or reject any person as a tour participant and to expel from the tour any participant whose conduct is deemed incompatible with the interests of the tour group.
  • Health requirements:
    Tour members should check with the consulates and/or the local health boards for the latest health requirements.
  • Travelers who need special assistance:
    Any disability requiring special attention must be reported to the tour company at the time of booking. The tour company will make reasonable efforts to accommodate the special needs of disabled tour participants, but is not responsible for any denial of services by carriers, hotels, lodges, restaurants, or other independent suppliers, nor any additional expenses incurred. Motor coaches and minibuses are not equipped with wheelchair ramps. Individual assistance cannot be provided to a tour member for walking, dining, getting on/off motor coaches and other transportation vehicles, or other personal needs. Travelers who need assistance must be accompanied by a qualified and physically able companion. Motorized scooters are unsuitable for touring.
  • Young tour participants:
    Tour participants under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by an adult. Children under the age of 8 years are not accepted.
  • Accommodations:
    The hotels listed in the itinerary will be used on almost all departures but are subject to change without notice. If a change becomes necessary for any reason, hotels substituted will be similar to those shown. Generally only twin-bedded rooms are reserved. Should any double-bedded rooms be reserved they are allocated to couples. Room types are assigned upon check-in. Please note it is standard policy that hotel rooms are available for check-in after 3 p.m. Early hotel check-in is not available. Private bath & single rooms: In exceptional cases where private bath or single rooms are not available, refunds are made by the Tour Director. Claims made in this respect cannot be accepted after the tour.
  • Air-conditioning:
    Although available at most of the hotels offered in our escorted tour programs, conditions and use of air-conditioning abroad differs greatly from the United States. Many European hotels were built before central air-conditioning was introduced. Air-conditioning is often shut down at night.
  • Meals on tour:
    As specified in each itinerary. Meals are based on the hotel's or restaurant's buffet or set menu. In general, beverages are not included, unless specifically stated.
  • Transfers:
    Transfers are provided as indicated for each tour by car, minibus, or motor coach. If you deviate from the arrival and/or departure dates as stated in the itinerary, you may purchase the transfer service prior to full payment being made. Your arrival transfer is guaranteed for up to one hour from your scheduled arrival time in order to compensate for minor delays. The tour company or the transfer company will not be responsible for flight delays, for any reason, beyond one hour from your originally scheduled arrival time. In case of a delay, whether due to flight delay or time spent reporting baggage damage or loss, it will be your responsibility to make other transfer arrangements such as a taxi. Transfer costs are not refundable and any additional expenses will be your responsibility.
  • Smoking:
    Smoking is not allowed on motor coaches or minibuses.
  • Holidays:
    During local or national holidays, certain facilities such as museums and restaurants, sightseeing tours and shopping may be limited or not available. Alternatives will be offered whenever possible.
  • Baggage:
    Porterage for one suitcase is included in tour price not exceeding 30" x 21" x 11" and weight not exceeding 50 lbs. A second suitcase or any luggage exceeding these limits will not be accepted. Most airlines impose a weight and size restriction on baggage and will charge additional fees if these restrictions are exceeded. Please check with the applicable airline(s) regarding airline baggage allowances for your vacation program.
  • Not included in program price:
    Passports; visas; tips to your Tour Director, tour driver, and local city guides; laundry, beverages, food not on the regular table d’hote menu (these extra items will be billed to you before leaving the hotel or restaurant); optional excursions; and other items of a personal nature.
  • Safety:
    Please be aware that during your participation in this tour certain risks and dangers may arise beyond the tour operators control including, but not limited to, the hazards of traveling in undeveloped areas; travel by boat, train, automobile, aircraft or other means of transportation; the forces of nature, political unrest and accident or illness in remote regions without means of rapid evacuation or medical facilities. The tour operator will not have liability regarding provision of medical care or the adequacy of any care that may be rendered. It is understood that the tour operator will use its best efforts to ensure that adequate measures are taken.
  • Responsibility:
    The tour operator and/or its agents act only in the capacity of agent for the passengers in all matters pertaining to the tour, whether by plane, rail, motor coach, ferry, cruise ship or any other means of conveyance. They shall not be liable for any injury, damage or loss caused by neglect or default of any company or person engaged in conveying the tour, or any hotel proprietor or other person supplying services or material in connection with the tour. Kompas reserves the right to withdraw a tour, refuse to accept or retain any person as a member of a tour at any time, or to make changes in the published itinerary, whenever in their sole judgment conditions warrant or if they deem it necessary for the comfort, convenience or safety of the passengers.

  • Restrictions:
    Prices are per person based on double occupancy and a 21-day advance purchase. Purchases within 21 days will incur additional fees. Air carrier used in the package is based on gateway and availability at time of booking and multiple flights connections may be necessary. Flight departure times may be at any time on your requested departure day. Surcharges up to $50 per person each way may apply for travel Thursday through Monday depending on travel dates. Air taxes/Government-imposed fees/surcharges are excluded. These fees are in addition to the package prices and will be added to invoice. Travel is valid for these dates only. Certain other restrictions may apply, and offer is subject to change without notice. No request will be processed until full payment is received. Once submitted your request can take at least 24 hours to confirm.
