My holiday was a good one. A minor glitch with my hotel transfer was resolved once I returned. A company that is willing to stand by their service after the vacation is over is one I will use again.

It was wonderful to see the Parthenon and other ruins. It is a once in a lifetime experience. However, Athens is not a world class city. Except for Plaka and the waterfront, it is a dump. I was quite disappointed. I did not expect it to be so dirty and the people so rude. For a country which relies on tourism, it was not welcoming. There were restaurants in Plaka that purposely charged us for items we did not order. We were not the only ones. Also, all of my mother's souvenirs were stolen from her suitcase. I will definitely avoid Athens and visit only the islands which I heard from many other tourists are one hundred times better than Athens itself.

This tops all our other vacations. It was exactly what we dreamed of. The direct flight on Delta to Athens shortened our travel time. The hotel was clean, nice, we had a view of the Acropolis right from our bedroom window and at night when it is lit up; well we would just lay in bed and look at it in disbelief. Our hotel was right in the middle of all the fun of the Plaka, which is THE place to stay if you go to Athens. The ruins we explored were astounding, the shops we shopped in were so much fun. I can't say enough about the food! By the way, our hotel provided such a large full breakfast, we couldn't think of eating again until at least 3 P.M. And it came with the stay at no extra charge. It was served in a lovely large room with small table overlooking the exciting Plaka. The hotel also has a roof top garden where you can have refreshments and just lay on a chaise looking out at the Acropolis, Lycabetta Hill and the surrounding city. I would go again and stay at the Hotel Plaka no question. Our next vacation will be booked with go today.com. This was the easiest, painless, most perfectly orchestrated vacation I've planned yet! What a great travel agency Go is! I won't take anymore vacations without checking them out first. Everything went smoothly and there were no bad surprises. Top notch. A vacation that dreams are made of! Oh and by the way, I researched this trip for months before we booked with go today. They came in not only the cheapest, but the only ones with the package including the Hotel Plaka where I wanted to stay, plus direct flights from N.Y.

Everything went very smoothly, flights and hotel. Flight was long but Iberia Airlines is pleasant to travel on. The Archilles Hotel is close to everything, excellent breakfast selection, accomodating, clean and friendly.

I have traveled on several go-today.com tours and have always been happy with them. I was very pleased with the air part of my recent trip to greece, I didn't have any big layovers. The hotel was another story. I have traveled alot to Europe and always stay in lower end hotels because I spend little to no extra time in the rooms. All the hotels from go-today.com up to this tripp were fine, I even upgraded once and those hotels were excellent. The hotel on this trip La Mirage in a word SUCKED. It was in a good location very near a metro station which was the only good thing @ it. I don't know what was worse the rock hard bed or the rude staff or the hundred screaming French teenagers. Do book with go-today.com they are great just pay more for any hotel but the La Mirage.

I traveled to Athens for a week with 3 other gals. It was one grand adventure after another. The Greek people are the friendliest(at least the men are). We four American women felt like royalty there. Our hotel, The Achilleas" was very clean and friendly with a great location. I've used this company to book my last 4 trips, and haven't had a problem yet. Flying Lufthansa was a great way to fly with free "drinks." We did feel security was very lax, considering that the Olympics are in Athens this summer. I'm afraid Athens will NEVER be ready in time for the Olympics. A lot of construction going on and no one seems to be in a rush to finish the metro to the airport or the roads leading up to the Olympic Stadium. But truly the Greek food and Greek men make it all worth it. Kathy
