This picturesque island is graced with multi-colored sand due to a volcanic eruption in 1450 BC. Following a three-night stay in Santorini you will transfer by ferry back to Pireaus. This trip was AMAZING!!! This is my second trip with go-today.com (first was Italy) and they do a great job. However, I learned a few things after my first trip and so new what to do extra research on.
So I did a LOT of upgrades to this trip ...so depending on your budget, you might not want to...but basically, after I was set on which trip I wanted to take, I CALLED go-today.com instead of booking online. I upgraded the flight to be a direct flight (Delta Airlines). This added about $250 more per person. Which is TOTALLY worth it if you want to maximize your time there because you fly overnight and can get to Athens at like 7am, giving you a full day of touring. Also, I extended the trip so I had 2 full days in Athens, and then on the third day taking an early ferry to Mykonos. That made it 9 nights in Greece. I also asked for 4 star hotels. BUT - I went on Hotel.com to research those 4 star hotels to see pictures, reviews, where exactly the were located. You want to make sure they are close to the site you want to tour. In Athens, we stayed at the Amalia Hotel, which was excellent. Great location (near Acropolis, Agora, Museums, Parliment, Gardens, etc), great service, and the hotel was a new modern contemporary design. Very nice, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. While in Athens, you have to go to the Acropolis. It is absolutely beautiful! However, make sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes, and BRING A BOTTLE OF WATER!!!
Mykonos - was my absolute favorite. I loved it. It was heaven on earth. We stayed at Petasos Beach Hotel which was BEAUTIFUL. I can't even describe it. It was right next to the beach (in Platis Yiatos or something like that) and the pool overlooked the Aegean Sea. The staff was great, the SPA was amazing, location PERFECT. You are basically in front of the bus stop that takes you to Little Venice (where all shops, restaurants, party life, and sunset can be seen), and you're on a nice beach but also on the main stop for the ferry taxi that takes you to all the other nice beaches (Elias, Super Paradise, Paridise, etc.). You have to stay at this hotel!!!
Santorini - Absolutely beautiful in a different kind of way. First when you arrive at the port you take a bus up a REALLY high, steep rocky mountain where the windy road is very narrow and if you're afraid of heights, you might have a nervous break down. Actually if you're afraid of heights you shouldn't even go to Santorini. But, if you're not, this is a beautiful place. In Oia, you see the most AMAZING sunset, there are various shops, restaurants, etc...it is the most beautiful place in Santorini and it is also the highest peak there. Aside from that our hotel was in the town of Fira, which is where most shops, restaurants, and night life happens. However, I was not that satisfied with the hotel. It was about a 15 minute walk to where everything was happening, which is fine, but the road was dangerious to walk on because there are barely any sidewalks and if there are, people are parked there, so you walk on the road, which is pretty narrow and the cars drive by extremely fast right next to you. Also, I didn't think it was a 4 star hotel, the rooms weren't that nice or comfortable. It just seemed to be pretty old. I wouldn't stay there again. I would try to stay as close to the square at Fira as possible OR, stay at Oia, where you can see the sunset every night while there (but again all the hotels are practically on the edge of the cliff here - so if you're afraid of heights, Oia is not the spot for you). While in Santorini we went on an excursion to the Volcano (really a Lava Island), the hot springs, and the red beach. I LOOOVED the excursion, but WARNING: don"t wear white bathing suit to hot springs, bring water shoes, you HAVE to know how to swim because you have to swim some distance in the ocean in order to get to the hot springs or the red beach and they DO NOT provide floating device or life jacket, and this excursion is NOT intended for kids. Also, I booked this excursion with my hotel while there and not with go-today.com.
Lastly, we took a ferry back to Athens. I love being on a boat and enjoying the scenery and just relaxing before getting back to Athens. So, I enjoyed this ferry ride, but it is 4-5 hours longs. So, you might want to catch a flight if that seems to long for you.
Hope this helps.

This vacation was a great way to experience Greece for the first time. The driver provided for transport from the airport to the hotel and the hotel to the port of Piraeus was extremely hospitable and helpful.
This package also gave us the perfect amount of time at each different location. We chose the standard hotels and were given comfortable accommodations.
The only problem we really had was a mix-up in the date of our excursion to Caldera-Oia in Santorini. It also would have been helpful to have more information about the excursion. We weren't aware the excursion would include hiking and possible swimming. I believe the excursion's description also said that lunch was included, which could be misleading because we ended up having to pay for our own lunch.

I really enjoyed the Islands of Mykonos and Santorini. The hotels that you gave us were excellent. (Kamari and King Thiras)The staff was very helpful and friendly. However, the set up of the trip did not give us time to see Athens. We arrived on late Friday afternoon and then found out that we had a 7:30am ferry ride to Mykonos the very next day. The ferry ride in from Santorini gets you in Athens at midnight on the following friday. We had an early afternoon flightl back to the US on saturday. I felt that the trip should have been advertised as a trip to see Mykonos and Santorini verses a three Island Greek hopper. The Hotel in Athens (Candia)was awful and it seemed like it was in a bad area. The staff was unfriendly and not very helpful.

I have previously used Go-Today.com on a trip to Italy and just returned from a Go-today.com trip to Greece with two other friends. The package was the Greek Island Hopper and we chose the Deluxe Hotel package. The Divani Acropolis Hotel was very nice and was only about 3 blocks from the Acropolis which was incredible and very convenient to everything. The Royal Myconian Hotel in Mykonos was amazing. Great staff; incredible accommodations; views of the Agean Sea; and great location at Elias Beach. However, when we arrived in Santorini, we were extremely disappointed in the Santorin Palace Hotel. This is NOT a deluxe hotel. Upon entry, there were weeds in front of the hotel sign. The clerk gave us a room on the 1st floor of the hotel with no view (other than the green astroturf around the pool deck) and the room smelled very moist and dusty. I immediately requested another room and they showed me a room which was smaller and even less desirable. The patio furniture on the bar deck was rotten whicker furniture with no cushions. We were afraid to sit in it. Our room had plastic chairs and a table stacked in the corner for use on the patio. The hotel had not even bothered to prep the room prior to our arrival. There was dust and what appeared to be rat droppings on the patio furniture. The room had old pine wood furniture and very uncomfortable beds. There was a small 13 inch TV just sitting on the counter and an old inoperable radio in the bedside table. The room literally had not been updated in at least 15-20 years. Amazingly, the pool deck was covered with green Astroturf which I have never seen before. I am very disappointed in the fact that Go-Today.com included this hotel in its Deluxe package as I would have never agreed to pay extra for this hotel had I known what it looked like. There are so many other hotels in Santorini that are nicer and are in keeping with the other two hotels in this package. Despite our disappointment with the Santorini Palace, the trip was amazing. Athens can be done in one full day. Three days and three nights in Mykonos is perfect. You will need 3 days and nights in Santorini to rest up from Mykonos nightlife. We did opt for the flight back to Athens from Santornin and I would STRONGLY encourage you to do this. It was only 58 euro more. The boat ride back is 8 hours verses a 30 minute flight. The other two ferry rides between Athens/Mykonos and Mykonos/Santorni are enjoyable.
