Description

OXFORD – One of the most visited and historic cities in Britain and home to the famous University, founded originally in the twelfth century with the oldest college going back to 1249 and described as the “City of Dreaming Spires”, Our Guide will take us to see some of the major buildings. The grandest of all the colleges is Christ Church. Many of the scenes in the Harry Potter films are shot in various locations of the College. the Great Hall was replicated in the film studios to create Hogwarts Hall.

STRATFORD-UPON-AVON – A delightful Market Town on the edge of the old Forest of Arden, Stratford is the birthplace of the most famous of English playwrights, William Shakespeare. We actually visit the house in which he was born, as well as driving past his wife`s house, Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, with its impressive thatched roof and pretty gardens.

LUNCH – Your guide will be pleased to recommend a lunch venue. (tour price does not include lunch)

WARWICK CASTLE – On arrival you will be escorted to the very heart of the castle, the Great Hall. You don’t just visit Britain’s Greatest Mediaeval Experience, you live it! On the banks of the River Avon, bursting with tales of treachery and torture, passion and power and above all fascinating people, times and events, Warwick Castle is so much more than simply a castle. Amongst the imposing towers and ramparts, experience preparations for battle, feel the weight of a sword, get a soldier’s eye view from beneath a battle helmet, see lavishly decorated State Rooms and watch the preparations for a Victorian party.

This tour finishes at approximately 7.30pm.
