Description Cambridge - We take you for a walking tour of some of 31 colleges which dominate the town. We will see the oldest college, Peterhouse, founded in the 11th century by disaffected Oxford students. Then Trinity College, founded by Henry VIII, whose statue is over the gate, holding a wooden chair leg! Alumni include many outstanding literary figures, Nobel prize winners and Sir Isaac Newton.
King's College - We visit the late-Gothic chapel here, the most famous sight in Cambridge, and see the Rubens masterpiece over the altar. We also go behind the college to stroll along the famous ‘Backs’, meadows and gardens stretching down to the River Cam, which is popular for punting – a unique style of boating, which results in many novices falling overboard.
Oxford - Truly a journey through another world as we stroll around the ‘City of Dreaming Spires’, home to the world’s most famous university. Its colleges date back to the 13th century.
Christ Church - We visit the grandest college of them all, Christ Church. Many of the scenes in the Harry Potter feature films were shot in various locations of the college and the Great Hall was replicated in the film studios to create Hogwarts Hall.
