Description Depart from your hotel to Cardales to visit Estancia Santa Susana, about 60 miles from Buenos Aires. Estancia Santa Susana has been in the Rossiter family since 1860. Its 3,000 acres are devoted mainly to agriculture but also to cattle and horse breeding. Recently, the estancia began to receive visitors and it has adapted its facilities for that purpose. There is a Main House and some straw-roofed buildings where the dining room, the 'pulperķa' - a traditional general store which was a social gathering point for the gauchos at sunset, and the grid iron are set.
Upon arrival, a welcome drink with 'empanadas' (meat pastries) will be served at the pulperķa. Later, you will be served a typical Argentine barbecue (grilled beef, chicken, pork sausages, salads, dessert and coffee) in the dining room. After lunch, you will enjoy a folklore show with live music, dancing and a tango demonstration, followed by 'cuadreras' and ring races where gauchos show their skills as riders. For those willing to participate in the traditional activities, there are horses and 'sulkies' (two-wheeled carts) to travel around the ranch. Later on, a snack consisting of home-made pastries and 'mate' (green tea) will be served. You will be returned to your hotel upon conclusion of the tour.
