Beijing At Its Best Reviews

Beijing/Hong Kong combination. Hotels were clean and safe in both cities. Breakfasts were plentiful and delicious in both cities. Tour staff than met and delt with us were spectacular in both cities. Taxies were cheap and honest in both cities. Beds were hard in both cities. We had a wonderful time. Will go again next year.

I just returned from this trip, and in my personal opinion, it was an average to poor vacation.

First off, the good: the historic sites are incredible and amazing, there is no way it can be described by words... you need to see it to appreciate the magnitude. Most people are friendly and willing to help (although most times it's kind of hard due to the language barrier). It's dirt-cheap!

The bad: communication was a challenge; there was no taxi driver that could speak English.

The ugly: the city is so polluted; even though the meteorological service said it was sunny, we could barely see the sun. The city smells... the sewage in every corner smelled like a latrine. Personal hygiene is not too high for most of the population. All this was reflected in the hotel (Jing du Yuan), the rooms were dirty and the bathroom was horrendous.

All in all, it's an amazing city that needs to clean up. It has all the ingredients to be great. Let's see how it transforms in the 2 years remaining for the Olympics. It needs to improve not only the structural aspect (which is what is doing right now) but the social part too, for Beijing’s coming out party to be a success!

First of all, I have to say the overall trip was great. We flew on Asiana Airlines and loved it. This was my second time using Go.Today and I have plans to make it a third someday. Our hotel, Jing Du Yuan, was fine, not great, but the breakfast daily was very good. My only complaint is minor and concerns the lack of communication regarding CITS on the other end. Representatives from this China travel agency met us, after several phone calls, and directed us to our hotel when we arrived. This was not expected and never really explained up front by Go.Today. This would have saved a lot of confusion. Once I knew what was transpiring, their help was greatly appreciative. They were also our tour guides on the day trips we planned to the Great Wall and other places. One rep even escorted us out to dinner and to the Chinese Acrobat show after our tour one day. Great service but be prepared to tip. Beijing is quite a place and we hit the weather just right for March. This was my first trip to this part of the world and I would not hesitate to go back to China using Go.Today.

This is possibly the best vacation value I have ever found. The Best Western was great. The CITS staff on hand was very helpful and offered amazingly inexpensive tour options. The complementary daily breakfast was delicious and plentiful. I would recommend this package to anyone out there. You will not be disappointed.

Just got back from Beijing and we had an awesome time!! The Best Western is 1 year new and the daily breakfast was better than we ever expected (even had an omelette station). Shopping was fantastic and the tours were very reasonably priced.

Ecellent vacation. At no time was it evident that this was a 'budget deal'. Top class hotel, excellent representation by CITS. Only one minor comment, you won't find the Best Western in any guide books as it is so new and the BW website is a little vague as to location (so were some of the cab drivers we used). The hotel is quite a way from the attractions, but cab fare is only aprox $2 to the center of the city.

I'll agree with my wife that the trip was fantastic, but I disagree with her about the bed -- I slept like a baby. This was our second Go-Today trip, and it went smooth as silk. A GREAT bargain!

We just returned from Beijing where we had a wonderful time. The Beijing Best Western was a great hotel with a terrific Chinese restaurant and very helpful staff. The location was farther from the center than I would have liked, but the really inexpensive taxis were always available. The only bad thing was the beds - very hard. The Go-Today reps were also great. The sights were breathtaking, especially the Great Wall.

Fantastic Beijing vacation. Unbeatable price. The Best Western is a new and very nice 4* hotel. I never thought I would walk on The Great Wall (dreams come true). The Summer Palace is a great place to visit. Incredible shopping trips to the Silk Market and the Pearl Market. There is a huge weekend flea market 3 blocks from the BW. The CITS representatives (Max and Mr. Ming)were great! Without question, I want to visit again. Thank you for offering this vacation.
