Today Bath is a vibrant and cosmopolitan city with a wide range of cultural events and entertainment as well as thriving shops and restaurants yet it still remains compact and intimate with everything within walking distance. Sample Itinerary
Day 1
Individual arrival into the scenic town of Bath with time to visit the local attractions.
Overnight Bath.
Day 2
A winding walk around the majority of this fascinating city's great sites with the opportunity to visit some of the buildings, museums and collections that vividly illustrate its many layers of history. The route concentrates on the heritage and only touches briefly on the main shopping areas so, if you're looking to exercise your credit cards, you will need to make some short detours. Overnight, Bath. Day 3 This walk takes you around and over Bathampton and Claverton Downs. It will often be hard to say whether you are in the town or the country, in a suburb or a village. Bath merges gently into the hills, creating a special landscape that is recognized and protected by bodies such as the National Trust. There are frequent and varied views from the downs but you will need to climb a couple of long hills to appreciate them.
Overnight, Bath.
Day 4
This area covered today is said to offer the best walking around Bath with peaceful villages and a rich landscape of green valleys surrounded by wooded hillsides. Added to this is a wealth of industrial heritage from the 18th and 19th centuries to provide interest along with all the beautiful scenery. There are a couple of long hills and the paths are very varied with some steep sections.
Overnight, Bath.
Day 5
Tour ends after breakfast.
