Description This tour is an illuminating experience if you are looking for an insiders view of Brazil. It introduces you to another Rio, within Rio city: the favela. Rocinha is the largest Favela (Slum, impoverished area) in Latin America with around 150,000 inhabitants. Get to know the community routine by walking along its streets and alleys, visiting some local houses and commerce centers, especially the Boiadeiro Square Free Market. There you will find food and hand made goods from both Brazilian North and North Eastern Region, where most of Rocinha´s inhabitants came from. Obs: Schools and Day Care Centres may also be visited, under previous request, while touring Monday to Friday by providing products or money donations.
