DescriptionMeet your English speaking driver and assistant in the morning at the specified hotel and depart to Gaiole in Chianti. First stop is to the majestic Meleto Castle, a 13th century hill-top building one mile from the ancient village of Gaiole. For centuries the history of the castle still keeps its mark; the massive fortifications of the 15th century, the imposing tower built with a cylindrical structure, and the distinguished grace of the 18th century villa with its succession of rooms decorated and furnished as dictated by the typical taste of the country aristocracy of Tuscany. The castle also keeps a nice 18th century teather. There will be a guided tour of the castle and the cellars with wine tasting and typical Italian lunch. After lunch we take an excursion through the charming landscapes of the Chianti area. We stop at Brolio Caste for a guided tour. The castle's massive walls date back to the Renaissance and look out over what is perhaps the most spectacular view in the Chianti Region. The castle stands in a strategic position where the hills of Chianti unfold toward the plain of Siena. It is surrounded by a beautiful park with a picturesque Italian garden. Return to Florence.
