Depart from your hotel in Hanga Roa heading north to Ahu Akivi, the platform composed of The Seven Moai. These colossal sculptures carved of volcanic rock are the only Moai on the island that face the sea. Continue to Ana Tepahu, also known as the Cave of the Bananas. The tour then travels to the quarry of Puna Pau. Here the natives carved the Pukao, also known as the typical hairstyle or the hats of the Moai. In Puna Pau you will learn more about the carving, building and transportation process of these famous statues. Return to your hotel in Hanga Roa upon conclusion of the tour.
