Description Seoul Morning Tour and Korean Folk Village:
Seoul Morning Tour: Gyeongbok Palace / Folk Museum
With the establishment of the capital of the Joseon Dynasty in 1394, Gyeongbokgung was built as the main palace. Behind the outergate, Gwanghwamun Gate, it has four main gates including the front gate (Hongnyemun gate) to the south of the palace, and contains several halls and pavilions such as the Geunjeongjon, Sajeongjeon etc. But most of them were destroyed in 1592. It was rebuilt in the late 1800's and yet another disaster in the early 20th century and the Korean war resulted in unparalleled damage to most of the palace buildings. Access is currently permitted to selected parts of the palace and the National Folk Museum since the 1970's
