Visit Auckland's oldest park, Domain, located in a 60,000 year old volcano and then travel along the scenic Tamaki Drive before embarking on a cruise to beautiful Waiheke Island for a tour of the vineyards. You will see the Maori Land Wars battle site and Ngaruawahia, home of the Maori King. Upon arrival at Waitomo, enjoy a guided tour through the famous Glowworm Caves including a boat ride through the Glowworm Grotto which is illuminated by thousands of tiny lights from the glow worms that are suspended from the cave ceiling. Rotorua is the next stop where you will see volcanos, geysers, boiling mud pools and hot springs, afterwards partake in an authentic “HANGI”, or feast, where you will enjoy delicious Maori food. Cruise the beautiful Abel Tasman National Park and then head to the Marlborough wine region to sample the world famous Sauvignon Blanc and regionally grown mussels. Take a scenic railway journey along the rugged Pacific Ocean coastline to Christchurch, also known as the Garden City, and continue on to a half day guided Glacier walk. Be sure not to miss Wakatipu Lake in Queenstown - according to Maori legend, it breathes.
