Begin the trip in New Delhi, a city which infuses the ancient and modern. Travelers will tour the Red Fort and Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India. A memorial, mausoleum and palace are waiting to be explored during the drive between Delhi and Chomu. Jaipur gets its nickname, the Pink City, from the pink blush tones of its beautiful buildings. Tour participants will be able to experience a traditional cycle-rickshaw, a prayer ritual ceremony and an elephant ride among other exciting activities. The city of Agra is best known for the romantic Taj Mahal, but it was also at one time the capital of India, which explains the other luxurious palaces and gardens throughout the city which can be admired during your ‘tanga' ride in a horse pulled carriage. Next, travel to Khajuraho, where thanks to royal patronage the Khajuraho complex contained 85 temples, of which 22 have survived through over a thousand years of history. Fly to Varanasi a city associated with the holy Ganges River, where ghats along the banks buzz with the activity of the devoted. Travelers will also visit the place where Buddhism was introduced by Lord Buddha to his disciples.
