Arrive in the city where Goethe was born, Frankfurt, and explore the city at your leisure. The following day continue to Heidelberg featured in the movie, “The Student Prince”, Germany's oldest university town. Spend the night and the following morning in the Black Forest town of Freiburg before heading off to enjoy some German lakes. The next day embark on Germany's famous Romantic Road to visit the castle of Germany's mad King Ludwig. Then head to the town where the Passion Play has been performed by the inhabitants since 1634. Later tour a Benedictine Abbey and the site of a Winter Olympics before a quick nip over the border into Austria to visit charming Innsbruck to view the glittering Goldenes Dachl and glimpse the lives of the Hapsburgs in the Hofburg Palace. Head to the self-proclaimed capital of Bavaria, Munich to visit Linderhof Castle and enjoy the automatons of the city's famous clock tower. Enjoy traditional music and food at a special evening dinner. Wrap up your trip in the lovely medieval town of Rothenburg for some sightseeing and perhaps sample a Schneeball, a powdered sugar type of doughnut, before heading to Frankfurt for one last night before your flight home.
