Hong Kong is one of Asias economic powerhouses, yet is compact enough to make exploring easy. Skyscrapers and modern shopping malls compete with traditional markets and natural attractions such as beaches and the renowned Victoria Peak. Ocean Park and the Hong Kong Wetland Park make the mysteries of the sea and land available to visitors. Macau is a land with very different personalities. A former Portuguese colony, the Portuguese influence is everywhere including the over 400 Baroque churches, yet nearby are also peaceful temples as the population is largely Chinese. Stretch your legs and catch some views at historic Mount Fortress, now a public park. Of course there is always a chance to try your luck in one of the country’s many casinos, even if you aren’t into gambling, visit the Bubble inside the City of Dreams casino, for a free laser and light show or check out some of the other live entertainment shows always playing at various venues. Enjoy the local Macanese cuisine, a blend of Portuguese and Chinese cooking.
